Upcoming Event: Wheelchair Ramp Construction for Michael Sherill

Date: Sunday, August 4th Time: Starting at 9 AM Location: 320 N Robinhood Rd, Doyle, TN

Event Description: Highland AMVETS Post 44 is excited to announce a community service event to build a new wheelchair ramp for Michael Sherill. This project is a fantastic opportunity to come together and make a meaningful difference in someone's life. We invite everyone to join us in this noble cause.

Volunteer Information:

• Who Can Help: We need individuals to serve as Safety Observers, Picture Takers, and those physically building the ramp.
• Attire: If you have a grey AMVETS work shirt, please wear it, as we will be taking photos during the build.
• Seating: Folding metal chairs will be available (bring your own cushion). This is a great chance to assist or simply chat with fellow volunteers.
• Sun Protection: Based on past experience, it’s advisable to bring sunscreen and a hat.
• Refreshments: We will have water bottles on ice, but you are welcome to bring your own beverages.
• Shade: Jim Mardis will provide a 10x10 popup canopy for additional shade if needed.

Preparation:

• Materials: All materials for the build will be on site.
• Pre-Build Work: The old ramp will be removed the day before by the owner and Jacques Bacon.

Directions: From Cookeville, head southwest of Sparta on Hwy 111 South past Sparta to Hwy 70 South.
