A Fruitful Gathering at Highland AMVETS April Meeting Celebrating New Beginnings and Brotherhood

Highland AMVETS Post 44 hosted a lively April meeting that brought together good food and a strong sense of community. This event celebrated milestones and fostered camaraderie among veterans and their families, creating an enriching experience for everyone involved.

What’s better than gathering with friends and fellow veterans? Gathering over a plate of crispy chicken tenders from Bojangles! This April meeting promised a feast, with Bojangles delivering their classic menu items that attendees love. Bojangles’ chicken tenders are a top choice, featuring a perfectly seasoned crunch that holds in juicy flavor in addition to their signature biscuits, which are flaky and buttery. Good eats all around!



The Highland AMVETS family grows!


We proudly welcomed four new members, each bringing their unique backgrounds and stories, as they were officially inducted into the Highland AMVETS family. Their inclusion significantly enhances our strength and camaraderie as veterans. Congratulations to our new members!

Welcoming New Officers


This month's meeting was especially important as it marked the approval and swearing-in of the slate of officers at Post 44 who were underwent two rounds of nominations. The excitement was infectious as these dedicated individuals took their oaths, pledging to contribute their time and passion to the post.


It’s encouraging to see continuity of members willing carry the responsibilities in the interest and well-being of our body of veterans. The election/re-election of these officers was met with unanimous support from the members present, which underscores the confidence that the community has in its leaders.


Congratulations to all newly-elected officers of Highland AMVETS Post 44! Your commitment and readiness to serve will undoubtedly strengthen the post and help it reach new heights.




Community Project Announcement


The meeting announced an approved a small construction project scheduled for May 3rd to assist a veteran in need. As the project date nears, additional communication will coordinate logistics and request for volunteer support. Stay tuned for further announcements on this fast-approaching event.


Highland AMVETS remains committed to serving our members and the community at large. We know there is a large need amongst our ranks, and if any families require support and assistance, please reach out to the post so we can connect you with the right persons and resources to provide much-needed relief. M.A.S.H. Program Information


We'd like to reiterate the M.A.S.H. (Mission Accomplished Stable Housing) program. This essential initiative aims to help veterans who are facing homelessness or are at risk of it.


For those interested in helping or seeking more information, please contact Johnny Hood at (931) 214-2846. This program serves as a vital reminder that community support extends beyond military service, reinforcing the bonds of brotherhood that are crucial among veterans.


Volunteer Hours


As members of Highland AMVETS Post 44 continue to support one another, a friendly reminder was shared regarding volunteer hours. Members are encouraged to submit their recorded hours to Jacque Bacon by May 15.


Collecting these hours is more than just a report; it recognizes the dedication of the Post to community service. This aligns perfectly with the ethos, "We are our brother's keeper." Taking care of each other truly reflects the spirit of AMVETS.


A Bright Future Ahead
