The Highland AMVETS June meeting was another successful gathering with community and shared purpose. We enjoyed tasty lasagna and spaghetti from Olive Garden, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting.

Highland AMVETS Post 44 Continues to Grow
Three new members took their oath, enhancing a sense of unity and shared mission among all attendees. This adds to the current Highland AMVETS membership of 277 active members, a significant increase that reflects both the dedication of existing members and the growing interest in veteran support within the community. The addition of new members not only brings fresh ideas but also raises the organization's visibility in local initiatives.
In the last seven years, Highland AMVETS has set a high standard for community service. At the recent state convention, the organization received the New Membership Award, recognizing their effectiveness in attracting and retaining members. This award is a significant validation of their work, and it goes without saying that Commander Dwayne has been a great contributor of the effort to grow the post. Many members fondly remember their first interaction with Dwayne, with a booming voice out of nowhere that sounds like "hey, are you a Vet!!" The post is grateful to Commander Dwayne and his tireless efforts to reach out and help veterans in the community.

Upcoming Projects
Highland AMVETS is preparing for several exciting projects that aim to uplift local veterans and their families. Members can look forward to opportunities to volunteer and use their skills in collaborative ways. These projects are designed not only to strengthen community ties but also to showcase the vital services AMVETS offers. Be on the lookout for correspondence and announcements with the call to serve, and come out to show love and support to our brethren.
Member Engagement
Engagement is the lifeblood of Highland AMVETS. Our members' voice matters, and each individual brings potential and unique strengths to the group. We come together to brainstorm and plan ideas for serving veterans, so active involvement in discussions and events is highly encouraged. Also, we are our brother's keeper, so when there's a need in our community, please don't hesitate to give voice to it so we as a body can respond to it. If in doubt, reach out to Commander Dwayne directly to bring up any thoughts and ideas for member engagement at (931) 316-0179.
Members are also invited to share their skills and interests. This is not just for internal projects and events. If our members would like to generate interest for their business or post an ad in search of work, please reach out to Miguel at (951) 358-9182, and we can discuss ways to help.
Prayer Requests
Praying for one another is loving and supporting our neighbor. Please keep Ms. Susan (Denver's wife) in your prayers for a speedy recovery after her surgery. Also pray for Jacques and his family in the wake of his mother's passing recently. Lastly, pray for our active duty brothers and sisters from the 2nd Squadron, 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment (based out of Cookeville) for their safety during the recent events happening in the Middle East. Pray for our country, our leaders, and all nations to come to a peaceful, lasting resolution. God bless.
Moving Forward Together
The Highland AMVETS June monthly meeting was a proud moment of celebration and reflection. It highlighted new memberships, delicious food, and the successes achieved so far while setting a bold vision for the future. The active engagement of all members is essential as they launch new initiatives aimed at improving the lives of veterans. Together, they can make a significant difference, proving that teamwork and community spirit resonate at the heart of the AMVETS mission.
